Article: When Environmentalism Goes Wrong

Most can agree that helping the environment is usually a good thing, but in this report, I researched on how environmental efforts without considerations of socio-culture factors can lead to a lack of equity. Specifically, in Uganda, the World Bank and UN have cooperated to implement green energy and tree plantations, but this has only led to economic benefits for foreign companies, while Ugandans get their land taken away (sometimes violently) and end up in debt to the World Bank.
