Part two of our project, hosting a waste art competition at YCIS Silicon Valley, went well. There were roughly 15-20 entries from students grades K-5th, all utilizing waste items in creative ways.
At the "auditorium" on campus, students entered class by class to vote on their favorite entries. Then, there were short presentations on how we can help to reduce waste, and how we can sort and dispose of our waste correctly. The students were very involved in asking and answering questions during the presentation, which we were extremely happy about.
All around, the contest and exhibition were enjoyable for everybody involved, and we hope to spread waste awareness in our next project (coming soon)!
